The Beauty of being Average
“You can do anything, but not everything” - David Allen
Hi everyone, welcome back. It's been a long time since my last update. So here I wanna share some thoughts about today's theme, the beauty of being average. Have you guys ever thought about “Why could not I be able to do that but why can everyone ?” “Why is she so good at art, education, singing, and dancing ?” or “How can someone have that ability to do all things at once ?” and the list goes on.
When I was child, I would like to become a doctor, an astronaut, and when I was teenager my dream was changing to become an architect or a chef. In the university era, I really have a big passion to become a diplomat hahaha. But after I graduated from university, reality hit me hard. Those dreams I was dreaming are just a dream. To make it happen, I need to work hard, have wide connections, to be smart, to be lucky and to be strong.
After battling with a lot of difficulties I had faced in order to make my dream real, I just realized that is not easy because I am just an average person. But then again It's okay to have a lot of dreams and passions in your life as a human being. Because if you have all the passions in yourself, you will be able to provide and offer the good things in your life. At least we are trying our best until the end. The efforts, times, energy, and even money you had invested would be worthy.
Being average also taught me to enjoy and be grateful for who I am. For what I have, what I preserve, and happy with myself. Accepting our imperfections is something beyond amazing. The acknowledgement of being average in the career, intelligent, appearance, skills and even in the way we think. We may think that being average are more common than the populations of outliers, yes I have the same thought with most of the people. Then again, the acceptance that our talents and motivation are much more conventional, and accomplishments would reflect a healthier, maybe more rational self concept than delusional people who always think that they are great and no one is nearly his/her self.
For some reason we can be able to be professional in our jobs, be a good cook, be a good daughter, good mom, good partner, good learner and we can do anything but not everything.
To conclude, is it okay to be average? I would like to say yes. But the most important things are that we acknowledge the beauty of being an average, more rational, grateful, healthier mindset, accept the diversity and to be happy and cherish our life. Make the best time for yourself. That’s all I can share with you all today. I hope it will help you to realize that we are special in our way. We shine in our own lights.
Sincerely,
Elviera 💙
